What You Can Do If You Have A Blind Pimple
A blind pimple looks rather like a boil as it doesn’t come to a head and it stays beneath your skin’s surface. A blind pimple can be quite large and normally appears red and inflamed and does not have pus within it. The standard cause of this type of blind boil is overproduction of the skin’s natural oil termed sebum. This overproduction causes skin pores to get obstructed. The blocked pores attract inflammation causing bacteria and this results in infections, causing discomfort and redness. It is recommended to find a treatment for blind pimples to clear them.
Within this sort of pimple there isn’t any head to allow pus brought on by the deep seated infection to drain. The very best blind pimple treatment is salicylic acid, which is very effective in moving stuck sebum to the surface of the skin. There are numerous over the counter remedies on the market that contain this effective ingredient.
To get rid of a blind boil, you need to convert it into a pustule (a pimple full of pus). One way to do this is by using a cotton bud dipped in hot water placed on the affected area. Repeat this several times until the boil forms a head. If you are fortunate, you may find that this blind pimple treatment removes the blemish totally, without it forming a head. There are also natural home remedies which will help to clear this type of pimple; for example, honey is a natural anti-bacterial agent, well known for its healing properties. All you need to do is to use some honey just like you would put on cream to the affected place.
If the boil does form a head, wash the skin then hold your head over a basin of boiling water to open up pores. With a facial tissue over your fingertips, use firm yet gentle pressure to either side of the pimple. If this isn’t successful after a few tries, it is wise to leave the blemish alone and try once more the next day. The reason being that trying too much to squeeze spots that are not ready to ‘pop’ may end up with you creating a scar on your skin.
As with all types of acne, avoidance is better than cure! To stop pimples and boils developing to begin with, you may want to take a look at your diet and way of life. Eating healthily is a very important factor. Cut out the junk food and fatty, processed foods and replace these with fresh fruit and veggies, lean meat and plenty of water. Not only will your skin look clearer and fresher, you’ll feel much better.
Another factor that can help in addition to the treatment ideas outlined above is to leave your skin free from make-up for at least one day every week. It is certainly true that a few cosmetics and skincare products can actually trigger skin problems and irritation. If you have really sensitive skin, stick with a gentle facial wash and warm water and use a light, fragrance-free moisturizer.
