Search engines are those that contain the brief information about detailed sites the you search for. Some of the search engines are google, yahoo, Bing, rediff etc. it ranks the websites according to the users search.

It is the process of improving the visibility of the site you are viewing via natural or unpaid search results. It includes search of image, local search, videos, audios, etc. optimizing a website may involve editing its content and the HTML and the coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of back links or inbound link is another SEO tactic.

The user should never have to link to an SEO. Avoid SEOs that talk about the power of “free-for-all” links, link popularity schemes, or submitting your site to thousands of search engines. These are typically useless exercises that don’t affect your ranking in the results of the major search engines — at least, not in a way you would likely consider to be positive.
